Masterclass in Direction

Duration : Weekday: 60 sessions - Mon - Fri (10 AM - 1 PM) | Weekend: 24 sessions - Sat & Sun (10 AM - 5 PM)

Theory Sessions : Weekday: 1-2 hours/day Weekend: 3 hours/day This will include celebrity guest faculties from the film industry.

Guided Practical Sessions : Weekday: 2-3 hours/day Weekend: 3-4 hours/day

Outcome : Completion of a short film with importance to story and scriptwriting

Course Fee : Weekday: INR 1,00,000 Weekend: INR 75,000 *Taxes as applicable

Program Overview

The Direction Masterclass at Lumiere Institute of Filmmaking (LIFM) is a comprehensive 3-month programme designed to train aspiring filmmakers in the art of visual storytelling. Offered in both weekday and weekend formats, the course blends theory with hands-on practice to help students translate scripts into powerful screen experiences.

From understanding narrative structure and visual language to working closely with actors and crew, the course covers both foundational and advanced directing techniques. Students learn how to shape performances, plan scenes visually, and bring emotion, rhythm, and meaning to every frame—ultimately learning how to give life to a script through cinematic vision.

 
 

Final Project

Each student will produce a 3-5 min (weekday) and 1-2 min (weekend) short film using AI assistance in post. Best film will be awarded at the graduation ceremony by a jury of filmmakers and industry professionals.
